Mélange on Sycamore Blends Louisiana Soul with Italian Sophistication
Newtown has a new dining destination, and it brings nearly 50 years of culinary expertise. Renowned Delaware Valley Chef Joe Brown has officially opened Mélange on Sycamore at 255 North Sycamore Street, bringing a one-of-a-kind fusion of Southern Louisiana cooking and Italian cuisine to Bucks County.
Chef Brown, a celebrated name in the local food scene, has created an upscale yet casual dining experience that feels both refined and welcoming. The restaurant’s striking black-and-white interior is accented with jazzy, Louisiana-inspired murals that set the perfect tone for the culinary journey ahead. With a 100-seat dining room and a 20-seat bar, Mélange offers an inviting atmosphere where every guest is treated like family.
The menu showcases Chef Brown’s passion for bold flavors and fresh ingredients, with everything prepared to order. Standout dishes include the Crabmeat Cheesecake—creole cream cheese folded with jumbo lump crabmeat, baked in a pecan crust, and smothered with onions, mushrooms, and a light cream sauce. Guests can also enjoy Chef Brown’s unique twist on Red Beans & Rice, featuring a sautéed chicken breast simmered with Andouille sausage, bacon, peaches, and Cajun seasonings, served alongside mini cheese biscuits. Other highlights include fried oysters, duck gumbo, seafood jambalaya, and shrimp and grits.
Mélange on Sycamore is open Tuesday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. The restaurant is closed on Mondays. Reservations can be made by calling 215-968-6326 or through OpenTable.
Chef Brown and his team are excited to welcome the community and share their passion for exceptional food and hospitality.
